In combination, new properties of the system can be calculated, such as the thermal insulation of external walls. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a digital representation of a physical building or infrastructure facility, the digital twin contains all relevant information &#8211; from the geometry and components or building products to the materials used. It reflects all the characteristics of the real building, including its functions, structure, systems and operating procedures. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the circular economy, the digital twin helps to reduce material consumption. It continuously recalculates material requirements across all planning phases according to the level of detail and is therefore an important decision-making tool for optimization. It also helps to improve the construction process, operation and maintenance. The digital twin is able to provide real-time data on the condition of the building via data maintenance or built-in sensors.
