Foreword on handling
The exact requirements of a client vary depending on the type of project, its objectives and the specific agreements between the client and the contractor. For this reason, the specific framework conditions of an individual client and project-specific framework conditions could not be taken into account in this document.
Just like the first edition (2019) of the buildingSMART Austria AIA, the wording used is that of an integral part of a contract.
The authors would like to point out at this point that this specific AIA guide is not intended to explain or teach openBIM as a method. The task of this AIA guide is to break down and present the complexity of an openBIM project as far as possible so that the extensive normative specifications and standards, as well as requirements and processes, can be applied and implemented in real projects. The experience and knowledge gained by the authors in projects carried out since 2019 have been incorporated into this AIA guide, as have new developments that the authors believe will shape future openBIM projects.
In order to present the contents of this AIA guide in a comprehensible manner with regard to the context, implementation in the project and background, information boxes (marked in blue) are placed at the beginning of individual chapters. These information boxes are to be regarded as assistance from the authors and are not part of an AIA. If these instructions are reused, these information boxes are not part of the rules and regulations, as they represent the individual opinion or assistance of the authors.
Information marked in the document with the text color turquoise must be actively adapted in the projects according to your own specifications.
