BIM Globe 2025 – Simon Fischer – IDS4ALL – Possibilities, generation and application of IDS

Summary

Simon Fischer presents the first microAPP for creating IDS files from conventional Excel lists. This innovative application closes a crucial gap that was previously not covered by commercial providers. This microAPP makes it possible for the first time to easily and efficiently convert existing Excel data into the standardized IDS format of buildingSMART – a major step forward for the accessibility and usability of this young standard. And it gets even more exciting: buildingSMART Austria is planning a big surprise by docking a microAPP server to the openBIM Knowledgebase. IDS4all will be the first microAPP to run on this server. This will take the future of information provision in the BIM sector to a new level. Stay tuned!

Good to know: The AIA4ALL research project is developing open, modular and automatable client information requirements (AIA) and BIM execution plans (BAP) to drive forward digitalization in the construction sector. The aim is to design the client’s information requirements in such a way that they can be checked largely automatically in the construction project.
