Instructions
The project organization defines the structural basis for the implementation of the project. This chapter contains the project-related organization chart, the associated BIM role models and their responsibilities as well as the specifications for collaboration (coordination and BIM quality assurance) using the technical models.
It is an essential chapter for understanding “how” to work together in the project and “who” has which responsibilities and tasks.
The project organization can be seen as part of the Project Information Requirement (PIR for short, in accordance with ISO 19650-1:2019). It is divided into:
- BIM organization chart
- Illustration of the BIM role models in context (overall and among each other).
- BIM role models
- Naming of all BIM role models involved in the project.
- BIM role models Responsibilities
- Summary of all responsibilities and tasks of the BIM role models, according to their listing in the chapters of the AIA.
- BIM applications
- Framework conditions for the software of the individual BIM role models.
- Collaboration in the project (technical models, transfer configurations, coordination cases, BIM quality assurance, model-related communication)
- Specification of the technical models and their responsible BIM role model and the content composition of a technical model.
- Definition of transfer configurations for specialized models.
- Definition of coordination cases (coordination between individual planning participants, coordination for overall coordination meetings, coordination for phase ends/milestones) in the context of BIM quality assurance.
- Specifications for BIM quality assurance (test criteria, test routine, test reports).
- Specifications for model-related communication
