The Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP)15 is one of the most important building blocks of the European Green Deal. It aims to make the EU economy climate-neutral, resource-efficient and competitive by 2050. The action plan announces initiatives along the entire life cycle of products. It defines how products are designed, promotes the circular economy, encourages sustainable consumption and aims to ensure that waste is avoided and the resources used remain in the EU economy for as long as possible.
The CEAP focuses on those sectors of the economy that consume the most resources and are best suited to keeping materials and products in circulation. It also includes specific measures in the following areas: Electronics, information and communication technologies (ICT), batteries and vehicles, packaging, plastics, textiles, food, construction and buildings.
