The Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) has launched an action plan for climate, energy and resources31 to prepare the industry for the challenges of climate change. The action plan has four objectives: to raise awareness of climate impacts, to develop a method for reducing CO2 emissions in construction, to coordinate existing and new projects in the area of climate, energy and resources, and to develop an SIA action plan to create a sustainable living environment. The action plan is divided into four phases, which are to be implemented by 2025.
The SIA uses its expertise and standards to support the planning industry in the transformation of the building and infrastructure stock. The SIA also supports the federal government’s Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to reduce energy consumption and increase the proportion of renewable energies. The SIA is committed to the modernization, optimization, monitoring and promotion of living space.
