Libraries – Feature server, profile server
Various Swiss and international initiatives are currently working on covering the depth of information requirements with different technical solutions. They are pursuing the Level of Information Need approach in order to provide solutions for specific applications in the area of geometric, alphanumeric and document-based information. Depending on the initiative, the approach is to provide the data in an open standard such as IFC and/or in a native format. In addition to closed enterprise solutions, there are many open source solutions on the market. Standards are particularly important for software applications and services in order to be able to pass on the benefits to a broad user base on favorable terms.
